The importance of the Crown of Scotland to Scottish history cannot be overstated, as it is the oldest remaining crown in the British Isles. The Crown was used to coronate Scottish monarchs after Scottish monarchs since it was first used in 1503. Since Robert the Bruce originally wore the circlet at the base of the crown, it dates to 1306.
